WASHINGTON DC LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY: FREDERICO & MARIA
‘Love is patient, love is kind‘, reads 1 Corinthians 13:4, but it is not always at first sight, as we discover in the story of Frederico & Maria.
Federico and Maria met in Buenos Aires, Argentina when Maria was completing her masters degree in education there. It wasn’t long before she knew she had caught the eye of a handsome young Argentine lawyer, Federico. But she was in no rush to push a budding friendship into a serious relationship.
“He started asking me out in March, but it wasn’t until June that I finally agreed to go out on a first date with him” Maria tells me, with a hint of mischief in here eyes. Though it would take months for their first date to arrive, love blossomed quickly. Very quickly. It wasn’t long before they were making plans for their wedding day in Costa Rica, Maria’s home.
Then it all changed.
Unexpectedly, Federico received an exciting offer to work for the prestigious Organization of American Sates (OAS), in Washington, DC. There, he could continue his important work in international law. The wedding plans would have to change. Instead of a traditional wedding in Costa Rica, they would be married in a civil ceremony in nearby Arlington, VA. Maria’s dream wedding would have to wait.
A year passed.
Their love grew stronger, but Maria was yearning for the day when they would go home to Costa Rica. Then one day, Frederico learned that his assignment with the OAS would be soon be ending. To Maria’s delight, her dream of a beautiful traditional wedding day, surrounded by family and friends in beautiful Costa Rica, could now come true. To celebrate the news, Maria and Frederico asked me to spend the day with them creating memories of their time together in a city where their love grew deeper, on their way home.
Congratulations to Federico and Maria!
